Senior Yoga Teacher
Yulia is a practicing TCM Acupuncturist, Structural Bodyworker, Functional Medicine practitioner, and has taught on Yoga Teacher Training Courses since 2002. Her style of teaching is informative, unique and playful. She always encourage students to practice from a place of authenticity and joy. The ever-evolving style of her teaching is rooted in the traditions of Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow and Universal Yoga, and enlivened by the greatest source of inspiration of all – life itself! Yulia's fascination with the human body and mind has led her to complete advanced trainings in Tom Myers' Anatomy Trains Structural Integration and John Barnes' Myofascial Release (MFR) as well as explore Mindfulness and Meditation with Michael Stone.
The essence of Yin and Restorative Yoga is surrender. To balance the heat-building, dynamic, strengthening "yang" side of a Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga Vinyasa practice, Yin and Restorative Yoga focus on postures that release tension and lengthen the muscles by the means of supported passive holding.
In a Yin style, poses are held 3-10 minutes per side in order to release the fascia (the 3-D connective tissue).
The Restorative poses use many props (placed according to each individual body) and can be held for 10-15 minutes, but are essentially very similar to Yin.
As well as Yoga, the practice draws upon techniques from MFR (Myofascial Release) and Structural Bodywork, as well as the energetics of the Traditional Chinese Meridians and acupressure points.
The elasticity of our connective tissue diminishes with physical activity and aging, which makes Yin essential for injury prevention and joint health. Since a Yin Yoga practice often includes several long, seated forward bending postures, it also restores energy and calms the nervous system. Restorative practice initiates deep relaxation of the body, mind and spirit.
"The yin and restorative yoga courses that I took with Yulia have changed my life. 8 months ago I started yoga after 10 years of chronic back pain. Addicted to heavy pain killers that weren't working I had nothing to lose. I'm now doing 3 yoga classes a week. I have reduced my pain medication by 3/4. Pain is now reduced by 80%. I feel fit, strong, powerful and eternally grateful for the beautiful gift of yoga and for awakening the insight that was there inside me all along. Stay true to your mission you are changing the world"

Spring & Summer
Following a transition between Spring and Summer seasons - the domain of the Earth Element - we enter the next phase of the Summer season (4th May - 20th July). The Fire element is energy at its most expansive and radiant, helping us find what truly fulfils us and to find joy.
We are the Elements and so we are the element Fire. Fire is light, dynamic, moving, full of spark, vitality. It is creation and transformation of energy of any kind. To be “on fire” is to be full of excitement about life. To be “all fired up” is to be propelled by enthusiasm about something.
Fire is a life principle, just think about the Sun! Fire is creativity and spontaneity in action. Not only it governs four meridians and organ systems instead of two, ALL of the meridians are located on the arms, chest, and shoulder/neck. These are the areas we would explore in the Yin and Restorative postures.
A healthy human being needs warmth, love, joy, and compassion, so this immersion is also about exploring the mental emotional qualities of the Fire element through mindfulness, breathing, intention, yoga nidra and mantra.
The Fire practices are suitable for practice outside of the Summer season when the Fire energies may be out of balance.
