Exploring Yoga, Movement & Emotion

This series of three workshops explores how moving, breathing and creating an intention, whilst focusing attention on specific areas of the body can shift our emotions to a state of better balance. Through simple, accessible but powerful alignment-based asana, somatic movement, myofascial release, guided breathwork, prop placement, mindfulness techniques, and meditation we will deepen our understanding and ultimately our connection with the miraculous temple that holds the self.

  • Inspired by the Anatomy Trains Structural Integration (ATSI) bodywork series and built around three areas: lower body, upper body and spine.

  • Explore the world of fascia, the web that holds us together and tells our story.

  • Understand common postural habits, symptoms of misuse, and how our “issues” are carried in our tissues and become postural patterns over time.

  • Find a deeper relationship with prana (life-force energy) by exploring how it is imbedded in the fascial wrappings.

Yulia Heaton

Yulia is a practicing TCM Acupuncturist, Structural Bodyworker, Functional Medicine practitioner, and has taught on Yoga Teacher Training Courses since 2002. Her style of teaching is informative, unique and playful. She always encourage students to practice from a place of authenticity and joy. The ever-evolving style of her teaching is rooted in the traditions of Ashtanga Vinyasa, Vinyasa Flow and Universal Yoga, and enlivened by the greatest source of inspiration of all – life itself! Yulia's fascination with the human body and mind has led her to complete advanced trainings in Tom Myers' Anatomy Trains Structural Integration and John Barnes' Myofascial Release (MFR) as well as explore Mindfulness and Meditation with Michael Stone.
